We’re sure by now you’re fairly used to seeing your students walking along with their heads down, noses pointed towards their smartphone. But what are they really spending their time doing on those smartphones? This handy infographic below takes a look at 18-24 year-olds (in the UK) to see what they’re using their smartphones for.   • 74% of students reach for their phone immediately upon waking
  • 1 in 4 minutes spent on a smartphone is spent on Facebook
  • Average number of log-ons to Facebook per day? 13. 8
  • Engineering and Technology students tend to spend slightly more time on their phones than students in other departments
  • 27% of users have Apple iPhones, 22% use Blackberries
  • 32% of purchases are music and videos
  • Finding places, hours, and product info are some of the more popular functions of students’ smartphones
